Teach Your Child The Art Of Happiness
Happiness is a path and is a product of our own mental, emotional, and physical habits, which create the body chemistry that will determine our level of happiness.
It’s true that some people are more optimistic than others. But that can be an innate part. While some people may have genes that create a happier mood, much of a person’s mood is a habit, and like any habit, it can be learned.
It may seem strange that happiness is a habit. But as children grow into adults, they often invest in the habit of being happy or, conversely, they form the habit of being an unhappy person.
It is very important that, as parents, we help children to be happy and enjoy life. But how can children be helped to develop habits that lead to happiness and that will serve to build a fuller, more joy-filled life?
Help to have constructive habits
Teaching children to have constructive habits for dealing with their thoughts is one way to create happiness. But how to teach these constructive habits? You have to set an example, taking into account the following aspects:
- managing emotions
- mood management
- have positive conversations
- Learn to cultivate optimism
- practice gratitude
- Learning about empathy and assertiveness
cultivate the fun
They say that laughter is the best medicine for the soul and that is absolutely true. The more we laugh, the happier we are… Laughter can change brain and body chemistry. The smile is a wonderful tool that makes us happy even when we lack strength. Have you ever noticed how children laugh all the time?
With this “strategy”, the facial muscles inform us that we are happy and this improves our mood immediately. Therefore, in order to be able to feed back your children’s state of mind, it is necessary to smile every day. And the more the better!
Self-care and well-being habits
Children must know that if they learn to take care of themselves, without depending on others, they will feel much happier and fuller. Regular exercise, healthy eating, including practicing meditation, are highly linked with being happier. But if you and your kids have another, more personal strategy, like listening to music, getting in touch with nature or taking a walk to feel good… these are also good ideas!
be positive
It is necessary to enjoy the art of happiness and we parents have to teach children to be positive. This kind of self-talk helps you see the good in things and overcome the obstacles in life.
A happy person must be able to recognize himself, praise himself and know that he is capable of doing anything he sets out to do, even if he has to try several times.
Finding happiness in the little things
Children get more out of the little things in daily life. Just watch them enjoy every minute of anything. Everyday life can be happier, just getting the best out of the little things.
A sunset spectacle is still spectacular even if it is repeated every day . Children are able to enjoy these little things and this should not be missed. Therefore, they must grow up knowing how to enjoy the small things: the joy of reading a good book, hugging their grandparents, walking in the park…
Children need to understand that being grateful and doing things for others helps to cultivate their own happiness. Happiness cannot be bought, neither with money nor with material things, because it is a way to enjoy life every second with the people we want around us and in our hearts.
